The Compassion Pack — Prepared to CareStart your pack

A LITTLE PREPARATION. A LOT OF HEART.

01 / OUR MISSION

Compassion starts
with being prepared.

The Compassion Pack is about making kindness practical: keeping a small collection of useful essentials close at hand, so you can respond when someone needs a little help.

To meet everyday needs with everyday kindness—equipping people to offer practical essentials, human connection, and dignity, one compassion pack at a time.

02 / BUILD YOUR PACK

A little bag.
A thoughtful beginning.

Start small. Choose new, useful items you can afford, and pack them in a clean, easy-to-carry bag. One pack is a good place to begin.

01

Something to eat & drink

Sealed water and individually wrapped, easy-to-open snacks. Choose soft options and keep ingredient and allergen labels intact.

02

A few fresh essentials

New socks, tissues, unscented wipes, a toothbrush and toothpaste. Keep toiletries separate from food in a sealed pouch.

03

A personal touch

A brief, kind note. Seasonal items when appropriate. A current list of nearby places offering meals, shelter or other support.

KEEP IT READY, KEEP IT USEFUL

Your vehicle is the starting point.

Store the pack out of direct sunlight and check it regularly. Vehicles get hot and cold: follow each item’s storage instructions, rotate food and water often, and replace anything expired, damaged or leaking. Bring temperature-sensitive items with you when you head out.

03 / HELP WITH CARE

The way you give
matters, too.

A pack is an invitation to connect. Let the person decide what would be useful to them.

“Hi. Would a bag with a few essentials be helpful?”
  1. Ask first. Respect the answer.

Offer without assumptions or pressure. A “no, thank you” is always okay.

  2. Make the moment safe.

Park legally in a safe place before approaching. Never stop in traffic or ask someone to enter the roadway.

  3. Protect their dignity.

Listen, speak person to person, and give without conditions. Keep the moment private—no photos or stories shared without permission.

  4. Help beyond the pack.

Ask local outreach groups what they need. Volunteer, contribute requested supplies, or invite friends to make packs together.

ONE PACK. ONE PERSON. ONE MOMENT OF KINDNESS.

You don’t have to do everything.
You can do something.
